Multi-Cote is a high-performance waterproof coating that provides exceptional adhesion and longlasting durability. Designed for both interior and exterior applications, Multi-Cote creates a tough, acidfree, waterproof barrier across a wide variety of substrates, including concrete, brick, steel, and
blockwork.
Key features:
Multi-Cote is non-toxic, cement-based and free from aggressive chemicals. While it doesn’t emit harmful gases, ensure good ventilation in confined spaces (e.g. water tanks).
The substrate must be clean and free from loose material. Wash with a high pressure water system (3,000-10,000 psi), degrease with a no residue degreaser if necessary to affect a clean surface. Repair any cracks, holes, etc with a thick mix of Multi-Cote, or MasterMix Rapid Repair for any large problem areas. With any existing repairs it may be prudent to apply a test cover of Multi-Cote to test its adhesion. If Multi-Cote does not adhere, removal of that product is required.
Mix Multi-Cote in a suitable container with a powered mixing device. Mix with clean potable water at a ratio of 300mls water to 1kg of product. Mix well for 2-3 minutes or until a creamy consistency is achieved. Rest for 5 minutes then remix adjusting the water if necessary to gain a consistency of thick paint.
Apply with brush, spray, or roller (19mm nap) to the substrate to achieve an even coat of 1-2mm thick. 2 coats may be required to achieve this. If a second coat is required, allow 3-4hrs between coats for the product to set – it should be dry to the touch.
Do not apply thicker than 2mm as plastic cracking may occur as the product sets. Temperature and air movement can affect the set time, allowances will need to be made for this. Do not apply under 7°C ambient temperature as this could affect the cement setting. Allow 3-4 hours cure for open air service, and 5-7 days before filling tanks.
IMPORTANT: Wash tanks with water before filling to remove any residue.
Warranties may be offered, subject to project assessment and application by a MasterMix-approved applicator.
General Warranty: Up to 15 years for walls.

Independent laboratory tests show that the adhesion tensile strength of Multi-Cote was greater than 3.2 N/mm2 for both concrete and steel substrates.
To ensure that Multi-Cote does not adversely affect the quality of the stored water, Multi-Cote has been successfully tested and conforms to AS/NZS 4020-2005. These tests included Taste, Turbidity, Aquatic Micro Organism Growth, Cytotoxic Activity, Mutagenic Activity and Extraction of Metals. Should further information be required please contact our Technical Department for the full copy of the report.
Each application of Multi-Cote will take approx 30 mins to become tacky at an air temperature of 16°C. and cured in 3 to 4 hours. Temperature, humidity and water content will affect these times. Multi-Cote should not be applied in temperatures below 7°C.
Multi-Cote will form a hard wearing durable top coat to most substrates that require a waterproof coating that is inert and acid free which can be applied to walls, ceilings and floors. A colour tint can be added to the mix, or, the finished product can be painted with traditional paint systems. Typical applications are for water tanks, swimming pools and to ‘leaking’ external walls and floors.
