DETAILS

Product Performance Independent research was conducted Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) in the US to determine the most cost effective and reliable pothole patching material in a variety of environmental conditions. Vendors of cold mix patching materials donated 9 proprietary products to ODOT for laboratory testing and field evaluation for the following specifications over a 2 year time period: 🗸 Gradation 🗸 Workability 🗸 Cohesion 🗸 Asphalt coating 🗸 Primer 🗸 Installation equipment requirements 🗸 Compaction 🗸 Storage 🗸 Workability in adverse conditions 🗸 Durability At the conclusion of the 2 year study it was found that while all put one of the products meet the standards however QPR in particular performed above expectations. During laboratory tests the product retained over 40% of its aggregate on the 6.3 mm sieve which appeared to translate to good field performance with QPR being less susceptible to pavement distress.
