Fire Mortar Mix

Mastermix Fire Mortar Mix is our answer to projects that require mortar that can handle temperatures of 1500-1800 degrees Celsius without breaking a sweat!

Mastermix Fire Mortar Mix has the capacity to withstand temperatures of between 1500 to 1800ºC making it suitable for most high temperatures applications.

It is suitable for use in original construction of furnaces, ovens and incinerators and can operate up to temperatures of 1800ºC. It is ideal to use as a repair mortar for damaged fire bricks and to plug entry points into ovens during construction or repairs.

In addition it has the additional feature of having a very high compression strength combined with extremely low rate of shrinkage.

Product Performance As part of our commitment to developing the best products for your projects, Mastermix has maintained a 20 year history of rigorous testing via internationally recognised laboratories. We pay top dollar to put our products to the test so you don’t have to. OPUS Laboratory Results: Independent laboratory tests have shown that that Fire Mortar Mix has a compressive strength of 53.0MPa after 3 days and minimum 70.0MPa after 28 days. It meets NZ Standards 4210:1989 Code of Practice for masonry construction.
Packaging Packed in 20kg and 30kg waterproof bags. When stored in cool dry conditions it will have a shelf life of 3 months.
Instructions Mix 150mls of water to 1kg of Fire Mortar mix thoroughly to an even consistency, add a little water only if necessary. Once placed do not rework. The ambient temperature affects the curing time of Fire Mortar Mix. It is best used in temperatures of between 7°C and 25°C. The water content will also affect the curing time. Once mixed correctly will set in 1 to 1½ hours at an ambient temperature of 16°C. For cracks and breakouts: Simply pour the mixture into the cracks to level up and leave. For corroded areas: Pour onto the area and squeegee over to cover the affected area evenly. The product will set quickly to form an abrasive, resistant and flexible repair.
Coverage & Performance Fire Mortar can with stand temperatures of between 1500 to 1800°C when mixed correctly sets in 1 to 1½ hours and will cure rapidly. ‘Fire Mortar’ has an additional features of having a very high compression strength combined with extremely low rate of shrinkage rates.
Warranty As part of our commitment to delivering the best customer experience throughout the project lifecycle, Mastermix Director Steve Douglas personally reviews each warranty request. Each Warranty period is awarded at our discretion and will only be considered where approved Mastermix product applicators are used.
