DUNEDIN WASTEWATER PUMP STATION
Vauxhall Wastewater Pumping Station and Storage Chamber is approximately 12 years old and has corroded over time with loss of cement and exposed aggregate due to the attack from hydrogen sulphide (H2S). Dunedin City Council required a coating system that would extend the life of the asset and protect against further attack from H2S. Dunedin City Council required the product to be guaranteed for a minimum of 7 years.

Mastermix Armor has a projected design life of better than 50yrs in an sewer environment of ph 3.5!
rAPID rEPAIR
Rapid Repair was used to rebuild the damaged manhole walls then ย on top to provide a waterproof, acid resistant surface which is designed to resist the challenging environment presented by the sewer manhole.
MasterMix suppliedย RAPID REPAIR,ย ARMORย and Tac-Cote for this contract.
Acid environments are a unique challenge which Mastermixย ARMORย was scientifically formulated to withstand. The product is hydrophobic with high adhesion characteristics which forms an extremely effective waterproof and acid resistant barrier, and can withstand compressive loads of up to 14.7MPa.
ARMOR
Independent tests commissioned with AMS Laboratories produced the following results under the test conditions EN 1348, AUS Standards 134 and NZ Standards 3112.
Adhesion >1 Mpa Compressive Strength 14.7MPa
Flexural Strength 6MPa Residual Strength 11.26MPa
Shrinkage 0.005% Acid Resistance Very high when immersed at pH0
