Mortar Mix

Mortar Mix is our general purpose mortar designed for both brick and block work.

Mastermix Mortar Mix NZ is a standard brick and block laying mortar and is batch mixed for consistency and has a plasticiser added to enable the product to be more workable.

It is suitable for use in original construction and repair work for both brick and block work and is a product suitable for general use in the building and construction industry.

Product Performance As part of our commitment to developing the best products for your projects, Mastermix has maintained a 20 year history of rigorous testing via internationally recognised laboratories. We pay top dollar to put our products to the test so you don’t have to. OPUS Laboratory Results: Independent laboratory tests have shown that Mortar Mix has a compression of 41.0MPa after 7 days and 55.0MPa after 28 days. Mortar Mix meets NZ Standard 4210:1989 Code of Practice for masonry construction.
Packaging Packed in 20kg and 30kg waterproof bags. When stored in cool dry conditions it will have a shelf life of 3 months.
Instructions Mortar Mix NZ should be mixed thoroughly, and evenly with 135mls : 1kg of product of clean potable water to the consistency required for the particular work being carried out. The ambient temperature affects the curing time of Mortar Mix. It is best used in temperatures of between 7°C and 25°C. The water content will also affect the curing time. For cracks and breakouts: Simply pour the mixture into the cracks to level up and leave. For corroded areas: Pour onto the area and squeegee over to cover the affected area evenly. The product will set quickly to form an abrasive, resistant and flexible repair.
Coverage & Performance As a guide a 30 kg bag of Mortar Mix will lay approximately 40, 200 series bricks and 60, 70 series bricks. New Zealand tests have shown that ‘Mortar Mix’ has a compression of 41.0MPa after 7 days and 55MPa after 28 days. ‘Mortar Mix’ meets NZS4210:1989 Code of Practice for masonry construction.
Warranty As part of our commitment to delivering the best customer experience throughout the project lifecycle, Mastermix Director Steve Douglas personally reviews each warranty request. Each Warranty period is awarded at our discretion and will only be considered where approved Mastermix product applicators are used.
