Product Introduction and Description

Mastermix Super Mortar Mix is a high strength brick and block laying mortar and is batch mixed for consistency and has a plasticiser added to enable the product to be more workable.

It is suitable for use in original construction and repair work for both brick and block work and is a product most suited for situations where high compression strength is required. It can also be used as a pumpable grout.

Our standard Mortar Mix has a compression strength of 55MPa after 28 days compared to 69.5MPa for our Super Mortar Mix!

Super Mortar Mix is a high compression mortar which requires less knocking time on the board then our general Mortar Mix:

Trade quality product
Washed and graded sand, cement and plasticiser
Batch mixed for consistency

Achieves a good “fatty” mix, which requires less knocking up time on the board. Complies with NZ Standard 4210:1989 Code of Practice for masonry construction. Compression of 53.0MPa after 4 days and 69.5MPa after 28 days.

OPUS Laboratory Results:Independent laboratory tests have shown that that Super Mortar Mix has a compression of 53.0MPa after 4 days, and 69.5MPa after 28 days. It meets NZ Standards 4210:1989 Code of Practice for masonry construction.Compare this with our standard Mortar Mix which reaches a compression strength of 41.0MPa after 7 days and 55.0MPa after 28 days.
PackagingPacked in 20kg and 30kg waterproof bags. When stored in cool dry conditions it will have a shelf life of 3 months.
Instructions

Super Mortar Mix should be mixed thoroughly, and evenly with clean potable water to the consistency required for the particular work being carried out.

The ambient temperature affects the curing time of Super Mortar Mix. It is best used in temperatures of between 7°C and 25°C. The water content will also affect the curing time.

When used as a pumpable grout the yield is 18 litres per bag when mixed.

Coverage & PerformanceAs a guide a 30 kg bag of ‘SMM’ will lay approximately 40, 200 series bricks and 60, 70 series bricks. When used as a pumpable grout the yield is 18 litres per bag when mixed.
WarrantyAs part of our commitment to delivering the best customer experience throughout the project lifecycle, Mastermix Director Steve Douglas personally reviews each warranty request. Each Warranty period is awarded at our discretion and will only be considered where approved Mastermix product applicators are used.
