manhole-and-pumpstation-refurb-in-whakatane-and-maketu
Our applicator, Eastern Bay Drainage, successfully completed specialist wastewater infrastructure refurbishment works for the Whakatāne District Council and the Western Bay of Plenty District Council. The projects included manhole refurbishment works in Whakatāne and wastewater pump station refurbishment in Maketū, focused on restoring, protecting, and extending the lifespan of critical wastewater assets.
These works formed part of ongoing maintenance and renewal programs designed to improve durability, minimise deterioration, and ensure long-term operational performance in demanding wastewater environments.
The Whakatāne manhole refurbishment works involved restoring internal structures and surfaces affected by corrosion and environmental wear. Protective systems were applied to improve structural integrity and enhance resistance to aggressive wastewater conditions.
At the Maketū wastewater pump station, refurbishment works were undertaken to restore and protect internal infrastructure exposed to moisture, chemicals, and ongoing operational stress. The project focused on improving asset resilience and extending service life while reducing future maintenance requirements.
A range of specialist repair and protective coating systems were used throughout the projects, including:
These products were selected for their durability, adhesion strength, and long-term protection in wastewater infrastructure environments.
